A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about how Driving Directions, Speed Secrets, and so many of the things I do have resulted in a big, fun community of fellow driving geeks.
With that in mind, I want to send you and all the other driving geeks who read this a huge THANK YOU!
As a way of showing my appreciation, I have a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. It goes live on the Thanksgiving Day, and runs through until Monday night (sorry, you have to patient until then!).
Use the discount code BFCM24 to get 25% off:
Or, just go to SpeedSecrets.com.
I attended a few different car club and other group events throughout 2024, and I think there’s one thing that separates the best ones from the rest: culture. If I had to describe what made the culture of these organizations special, it would be:
It’s been interesting to notice that this applies not only to volunteer organizations focused on the hobby of performance driving, but also to for-profit companies and teams. I’m not saying that these are the only traits of a great organization, but it seems that they’re a “must have” or foundation to build from.
As you saw above, I noticed and reflected on these things to the point where I could put them into a short bullet-pointed list! This has made me think even more about how I can integrate that list into what I do in the future — and help you more. So, thank you to all of the individuals and organizations who have helped me learn this lesson.
Thanks for being a fellow driving geek, and continuing to subscribe to Driving Directions! And, thank you all for helping me to continually learn.
Happy Holidays!
P.S. — A friend once told me that one way to describe a brand is to listen to what people say about the company behind its back. I think of a group or organization’s culture as what people within it say behind its back. What do people in your organization say about it behind its back? Holiday food for thought!
