Speed Secret: If a change in setup doesn’t work the 1st time, re-think & try again; your technique may need to adapt to the faster speed.
I often see race drivers try a setup change to their car, and give up on it too soon. Some changes require a slightly different approach in driving style to make it work. The same applies to a change in driving technique – just because it didn’t work the first time, don’t give up on it completely. Work at it a little before deciding if it does or doesn’t work. As a driver coach, I often have to convince my drivers to keep at a particular change… and when it works, they’re ecstatic! Adapting your driving style is critical to being consistently fast. To paraphrase the old saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, adapt.”

Do you have video of tuition, instead book?
Chao – Great idea! Actually, I’m currently working on creating a series of online/video courses that will be similar to my books – and perhaps enhance them. I’m hoping to have the first one complete by around May or June, and then a couple more by the end of this year. Please check back here for info, and watch for posts at https://www.facebook.com/Drivercoach for an announcement of when they’re complete and available. Or better yet, sign up for a Speed Secrets Weekly subscription or to download the “How to Tune Your Car’s Handling” infographic (on the home page at https://speedsecrets.com), and then I’ll send an email to you when the courses are available.
Thanks.
