Turn-in Speed – What Is It?

The speed or rate that you turn the steering wheel when entering a corner will dictate the line, and ultimately, the speed at which you can drive through a corner.

You can turn the steering either relatively slowly, or quickly. A slower, more gradual turn-in is considered a “progressive turn-in”; a quicker turn of the wheel is a “crisp turn-in.”

Note: Turn-in speed should not be confused with the speed your car is traveling when turning into a corner. That is typically referred to as “corner entry speed.” Turn-in speed is the speed at which you turn the steering entering a corner.
