Performance Driving Tip
Off-Season Preparation
My favorite quote of all time reportedly comes from Albert Einstein (some research claims he never did say it – at least not exactly like that – but it’s still a great quote!). He said, “A sure sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting something to change.”
So what are you doing this off-season to prepare for the 2016 season? Anything different from last year, or the year before that?
Are you satisfied with how you performed this past season? If so – and you don’t want to perform better in 2016 – going about your off-season preparation the way you did last year is a good strategy. But if you want to improve, what are you going to do differently?
- Study video and data?
- Use mental imagery to develop your techniques?
- Work with a coach?
- Practice (legally) on the street?
- Take a driving school?
- Use a driving simulator?
- Attend a seminar?
- Start a physical fitness program?
- Read a book?
- Develop and use a mental training program?
- Or?
If you do want to perform even better next year, now’s the time to start preparing. And begin by doing a little self-assessment, then planning. Oh, and then do it (don’t forget this last part).
Have fun!
