Speed Secret: Ensure that you have no more than 3 very specific objectives to work each time you head onto the track – less is better.

performance-driver-coachYou can only effectively focus on so many things at one time. When you head out onto the track, make sure you’re focusing on no more than three things – and just one or two would be even better. And make sure you’ve defined what those things are, and are very specific about them. For example, “I’m going to brake later” is not specific enough. Define how much later, what that will do to your entry speed, will you brake harder, etc. As a performance and race driver coach, that’s a big part of my job: defining specific objectives and strategies for my drivers to help them learn more, and perform better. You can do the same for yourself.
